Seattle Department of Transportation

The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT)  has a mission to deliver a first-rate transportation system for Seattle, with the vision of a vibrant city connecting people, places, and products. SDOT projects are selected and designed to integrally address the needs of all four modes of transportation (freight, pedestrians, transit, and bicycles) that results in a safe, reliable, efficient, and socially equitable transportation system. Specific to pedestrian improvements, SDOT strives to work with residents and communities to help identify the needs of all pedestrians. Better identifying different levels of ability or areas of specific concern can help SDOT deliver pedestrian facilities that are safe, inviting, and accessible to all.
