INSTALLATION - Lend Your Voice

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

LEND YOUR VOICE opens a dialogue with the communities that make up the neighborhoods of the seven Design Review districts in order to accomplish two goals. The first is to bring awareness to the Seattle's Design Review program and the opportunities the community at large has to engage in and impact that process. Secondly, through social media and community partnerships, we will host a feedback loop that can provide comments from those we engage to deliver to the city for inclusion in the Design Review process revisions in the coming year.

As part of the 2015 SEATTLE DESIGN FESTIVAL Volunteers from Weber Thompson are here to talk to you about design and development in Seattle.

WHAT MAKES DESIGN EQUITABLE? THIS YEAR’S SDF THEME ASKS YOU TO CONSIDER WHAT MAKES DESIGN EQUITABLE.

As architects, we at Weber Thompson feel design is most equitable when all voices are heard. Our city has a system in place for citizens to express their thoughts on development but it can be overwhelming. We’re here to explain the process and help you lend your voice to influence the city where you live!

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN:
  • WHAT IS DESIGN REVIEW
  • STAGES OF SEATTLE’S DESIGN REVIEW PROCESS
  • ABOUT SEATTLE’S DESIGN GUIDELINES
  • ABOUT SEATTLE’S NEIGHBORHOOD GUIDELINES
  • HOW TO UNDERSTAND A NOTICE & GET INVOLVED
